Thank you for your interest in learning more about the Police K-9 Association (PK9A).
We are a family at the PK9A. From our Team Members, to our volunteers, to our sponsors and donors. Every individual and organization contributing to our organization is the sole reason we can continue to help our K-9 teams flourish.
Our predecessors formed the Police K-9 Association in 1985 with the intent to assist a single department for their own needs. Since that time, we have grown exponentially, reaching past Canton, Ohio; currently assisting in funding the needs of 47+ K-9 Teams (Active & Retired) around Ohio.
In our partnership with the Canton Police Department K-9 Unit, we offer free training every Wednesday. We prepare and state certify K-9 Teams involved in narcotics detection, explosives detection, tracking, patrol and general obedience. With our donations, we provide our member teams with life saving equipment, education, and take care of our retired K-9 members with veterinary care as well as end-of-life valor when that time comes.
Annually, we host the PK9A BASH! This is our largest fundraiser, and one that we rely on to fulfill depleted funds from the prior year. Sadly, we had to cancel our annual BASH in June of 2020. We were, however, able to introduce our inaugural PK9A K-9 5K. This race was a huge success; Registration is now open for the second annual K-9 5K under our Events section!
Follow our Website, Facebook and Instagram pages for updates on our events and our hard-working teams.
We thank you for your unwavering support. Without you, we cannot do what we do.
